Prelude from Lute Suite BWV 1006a
JS Bach edited for lever harp by Anne-Marie O'Farrell
Performance Notes: Levering directions in the score are notated by diamond-shaped note heads preceded by the appropriate accidental. Chords may be rolled in keeping with performance practice of baroque music. Dynamics are omitted as in Bach's original these are left to the performer. Directions such as près de la table are editorial and suggest a change of timbre to highlight the phrase structure. Although the original key is E major, the key ofE flat is used here to exploit the maximum resonances possible on the lever harp. However, as a result, some D flats and one G flat are required in the tuning of the harp.

Passacaglia for Two Harps
This original piece is recorded on the CD Double Strung by Anne-Marie O'Farrell & Cormac De Barra and was inspired by Bach's treatment of a ground bass by Raison in his own distinctive Passacaglia in C minor BWV 582 for organ. Lever changes are denoted by a stemless notehead with an accidental while pedal changes are noted in the normal manner.

Chorale Variations
on "Deus Meus Adiuva Me"
The Hymn tune is by Seán Óg Ó Tuama (1989) and this piece has been dedicated to Cormac de Barra. It can be played on lever or pedal harp and has been recorded by Anne-Marie O'Farrell on the CD Number Twenty Nine presents Harping Bach to Carolan

Carolan's Farewell to Music
Turlough O'Carolan's (1670-1738) Farewell to Music is said to be the last work he composed, and the story goes that at the end of his life he returned to the house of his patrons, the McDermott Roe family, and played this piece before going to his deathbed. This arrangement is a musical reflection on Carolan's original material, and is concerned with the expression of loss.

Prelude No. 1 in C major
from JS Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1
Although this prelude is normally played on a keyboard instrument, it transcribes particularly well to a plucked instrument such as the lever harp. The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
GF Handel arranged for 2 pedal or lever harp by Anne-Marie O'Farrell
Originally a lively orchestral sinfonia which announces her stately arrival in G.F.Handel's oratorio Solomon, written in 1748. The main theme is borrowed from an aria in Giovanni Porta's opera Numitore. In this arrangement for two harps, pedal changes are notated in the normal way, while lever changes are denoted by a diamond-shaped notehead preceded by the appropriate accidental.

The Knappogue Medley
Based on two Irish tunes, The Morrison Jig and Fill, Fill a Run O. This version of The Morrison Jig has been used in Knappogue Castle in Co.Clare in the West of Ireland, and differs from the standard version of the tune in the B section. Fill,Fill a Run O is a plea from Roman Catholic mother to her son to turn backfrom his conversion to Protestantism.

Recuerdos de la Alhambra
F Tárrega arr. for pedal harp by Anne-Marie O'Farrell
Recuerdos de la Alhambra was written by Tarrega (1852-1909) in homage to the Parisian guitarist Alfred Cottin (1863-1923). As an etude for the harp it is highly effective for developing tremolo techniques.
